In February, we had our mother-daughter banquet. This year's special speaker was Mrs. Whitecar, who is now serving with her husband and children as a missionary in Belize.

This year's college activities included a hayride/bonfire, empowered youth, Christmas lights, volleyball marathon (again, of course), tobogganing (which was so FUN!...and very fast!), ice skating and lunch, and a trip to Turkey Run. Turkey Run is a big state park in Indiana. We went canoeing, jumped into the river with the rope swing, and took a spectacular hike through some of the prettiest scenery in the state! It was an all day trip, and was by far my favorite activity. This year's theme was all sports related, so dad opted out of most of them ;P.
Jacob, as many of you know, broke his leg during wrestling practice at school. He just went to his last appointment for that (after months of annoying people with his cast :) ) and finally he is good to go!
His cast was camo, so one day he dressed up with me, when I gave a speech to my class about living on an army base:
Notice the 2 goofs in the background! This is Jake's attempt at a "cool" face...lol |
Dad has had the opportunity to fill the pulpit in a couple of churches around here lately, which has been a blessing, and we are all doing very well. I will sign off for now, and hopefully have more pictures to show in a few days.
